A brief history

Lamborn Family Vineyards was the very first "Family Vineyards" label in the United States.

The first and second generation of the Lamborn Family in Napa Valley first began working the soils of Howell Mountain in mid-1969, back when there were but 25 wineries in the entire valley. The eight acres of their estate vineyards are located near the summit of Howell Mountain at 2,200 feet and farmed organically by the Lamborns themselves. Zinfandel wine has been under continuous production since 1982, and Cabernet since 2003. Annual case production averages less than 1,800 with winemaking by Heidi Barrett (of Screaming Eagle fame) since 1997.

Lamborns run every single aspect of their family winery. While there are plenty of "family wineries" that aren't involved in daily operations, Lamborn is run by Lamborns. Four generations have proudly worked their soil, growing the best grapes and producing the highest quality, single vineyard wines they possibly can.

Meet The Team

  • Heidi Barrett

Dubbed "The First Lady of Wine" by wine critic guru Robert Parker, Heidi's reputation as a winemaker is second to none. She is the only winemaker to have achieved consecutive 100 point scores (Screaming Eagle/Dalle Valle) from Parker, and she did it twice. Heidi Barrett remains one of the most sought-after winemakers in the world, thanks to her unparalleled attention to detail, mastery of her craft, and being an all-around wonderful person.
