Nose
Floral and mineral notes accented by intense red fruit.
Palate
The entry is elegant, showing earth, spice and again red fruit to balance it all. There is adequate acidity and minerality as well and enough flesh and succulence of fruit on top. The detailed flavors, intricacy and suavity of the Kosich Family Vineyards are here, showing throughout the palate and opening to a very long and complex finish.
Growing Conditions
A dry winter with just half of the region's typical rainfall, was followed by a mild and warmer than usual summer. However, the season was long with bud break and flowering events happening a week earlier than 2019, but harvest starting a week later than average. The cold nights and intense marine layers allowed an extremely slow ripening: a bounty for an extreme layering of flavors and the complexity of all our wines.
Aging
The wine will cellar well for 8-12 years at least.
