Palate
Deep black cherry and cassis flavor with concentrated mineral and terroirial tones. Well-extracted, elegantly muscular, with chewy, soft tannins.
Growing Conditions
Shallow, rocky and gravelly loam. Steep hillsides, some are slightly terraced. Low amounts of available water and soil moisture capacity forces a reduction in berry and cluster size enhancing flavor concentration and color intensity. Cool days and warm nights in this mountain area above the fog.
Aging
Aged 16 months in 90% Frenchoak barrels (38% new).
