Gibbs was started by winemaker Craig Handly and his son Spencer Gibbs Handly as a way to showcase the quality fruit grandfather, Dr. Lewis Gibbs Carpenter, had been passionately growing for over 60 years. Starting with a few hundred cases of Estate Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc, Gibbs has grown to 4,000 cases across 9 wines with the end goal always being to create classically styled Napa Valley wines that over-deliver in every way. A classic Bordeaux blend with a bit of a twist, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot all come together to make the 2020 Terroir Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon a bold and juicy wine full of character! A nose of blackberry, cassis, and chocolate with hints of vanilla gives way to a deep palate of dark cherry, ripe plum, and mocha. The vintage of 2020 lent winemakers supremely ripe fruit, the outcome of which is shown in the deep red hue of our staple Cabernet Sauvignon.

Craig started making wine and bottling it under his first label, Terroir Napa Valley, back in 2001; long before he took over the Estate Vineyards in St. Helena and started Gibbs Vineyards with his son.
