Palate

The 2006 Syrah reveals tremendous Northern Rhone-like notes of bacon fat, cassis, tapenade, pepper, and earth. It is a meaty, full- bodied style that seems to cut a nice synthesis between the restraint of a French Syrah versus the exuberance and opulence of a California Syrah.

Aging

The wine was barrel fermented in new French oak and aged for 20 months in 100% new barrels from Allier, Loiret and Voges.
