Palate
On the palate this wine keeps all the promises made by the nose and the color. Lush black plums are chased across the palate by nuances of bacon fat, tobacco, and spice.
Growing Conditions
Bennett Valley, which is Sonoma County’s newest appellation, is rapidly gaining renown for the quality of its Syrah. Because the estate is high in elevation with steep, south and southwest aspects, we have one of the warmest and rockiest sites in Bennett Valley.
Winemaking
Barrel fermenting, minimal racking, and the use of nitrogen to protect the wine during racking lets us keep the wine in barrel longer. This allows for better integration of oak and fruit without losing the brightness of the wine.
Aging
Barrel fermented our Syrah in our caves and aged it in 100% new French oak.
Appearance
Rich purple/black color.
