Nose
The nose shows the unique violet notes that are a signature of our site along with hints of vanilla and ripe dark fruits.
Palate
On the palate the wine is a seamless presentation of classic Bordeaux flavors. Cassis fruit intertwines with mocha notes and a classic
Pauillac cigar box in the late mid-palate. The tannin structure is both supple and robust
Growing Conditions
The wine is produced from the very top lots of fruit from our Bennett Valley estate. In 2011 it is a blend of our Cabernet and Merlot, which, lie on 20% due south facing slopes. The rocky volcanic soils and the great maritime influence from the Petaluma Gap make for a compelling wine, vintage after vintage. The 2011 Serenity Way is a tribute to the exceptional nature of our site. Steep slopes, meticulous farming, and perfect drainage all were factors in us being able to produce a great wine in 2011. Rigorous canopy management, aggressive management of crop levels, elimination of in-row vegetation, and the willingness to wait until November 2nd to pick allowed us to maximize our sites natural advantages.
