Nose

The nose presents red fruit notes of cherry and of raspberry jam. Despite the cool site the bouquet presents as ripe and expressive.

Palate

On the palate the fruit profile is more dark red plum and tart cherry. On the finish there is a subtle almond extract note. The wine has great balance and acidity.

Growing Conditions

Sun Chase is perched on the southwest side of Sonoma Mountain at about 1000 feet elevation.

Winemaking

The 2014 vintage provided an abundant crop of clean, ripe fruit. We continue to do relatively short fermentations with some whole clusters. The wine was aged in Francois Freres, Boutes, and Rousseau barrels for 12 months.

Aging

57% new French oak, Francois Freres, Boutes and Rousseau.
