Nose

The nose reveals a mix of black fruits and earthier tones. This reflects the blend of Swan and Pommard clones with the Swan providing the flashy fruit and the Pommard the mineral aspect.

Palate

The palate resolves thefruit notes in the bouquet into ripe black plum skins and has a beautifully integrated influence from the 50% new cooperage. The wine has very good length, and a rich finish.

Growing Conditions

Our 2012 Flanagan Pinot Noir Russian River V alley is a wine that reflects the warmth and balance of the perfect 2012 vintage. The vineyard set a modest amount of fruit and the long, sunny growing season let us pick our grapes in impeccable condition.

Winemaking

The wine is a blend of Swan and Pommard clones, vinified separately, in Taransaud Oak 3 ton fermenters. We used 10% whole clusters in the Swan ferment and no whole clusters in the Pommard.

Aging

The wine was aged in 50% new French oak barrels, from Damy and Francois Freres, for 16 months.
