Palate
This wine displays our classic profile of red and black fruits, warm rock, and mocha. The texture of this wine is elegant and reflective of both our cooler climate and our superb barrel program.
Growing Conditions
The 2009 vintage was unremarkable right up until late September when we received heavy rains followed by very hot weather. The vineyard crew did a great job making sure fruit zones were free of leaves and exposed fully to the constant breeze blowing in from the Petaluma Wind Gap. Meticulous farming, great airflow, and our steep, volcanic slopes allowed us to harvest clean, ripe, delicious Cabernet Sauvignon grapes on October 5th.
