Materra wines are grown in the Oak Knoll District of the Napa Valley, a region well known for its deep, rich alluvial soil and excellent microclimates. Miner Family Winery is a dynamic family owned winery tucked into the eastern hills of Oakville within the heart of Napa Valley. Founded in 1996 by Dave & Emily Miner, Miner is defined by a sensational portfolio of wines characterized by and committed to individualistic style and quality. Each wine at Miner is crafted in a style to encapsulate the distinctive elements and the indelible fingerprints of their respective vineyards. We have sought and secured a number of California’s finest vineyard sites, but only those allowing complete farming control. It is this level of detail and control that ensures our wine’s consistency and quality.
Our meticulously designed St. Helena winery is an enduring symbol of everything our family has worked toward for over 70 years. It represents three generations committed to crafting wine of the utmost quality. It is a beacon, heralding both our roots and our future in the Napa Valley. With stunning views of Spring Mountain to the west and Howell Mountain to the east, our winery sits at the heart of Napa Valley, not far from where Mario Trinchero lived when he arrived in California over 70 years ago. The 22-acre site houses our winery, tasting room and hospitality center—all overlooking the Cabernet Sauvignon vines on Mario’s Vineyard. The winery is a work of art unto itself—the perfect place to craft our estate-grown, limited production wines. Every detail of its design was conceived to create wines of exceptional caliber, from the sophisticated cold grape storage and sorting equipment, to the small fermentation tanks used for isolating especially promising lots. Our wines reflect our most pristine, estate-grown grapes, thoughtfully tended in the vineyard and ultimately hand-picked and scrupulously hand-sorted in the cellar. Following fermentation, we stay close to our wines as they age. Our barrel room is home to oak barrels from some of the most respected coopers in France. Hundreds of small steps are taken every day to ensure we create truly unique wines, handcrafted with care and integrity. We focus on small-lot winemaking, with unwavering attention to detail, to yield luxury wines that embody quality and dedication to the craft.
