Nose
Aromas of citrus fruit, honey and clove are at the forefront on this cooler
climate chardonnay.
Palate
Lush fruity flavors of sliced apple, white peach with
hints of cream and honey burst through the palate with the first sip. The
texture is smooth and seamless from start to finish, ending with an amazing
balance of crisp acidity inherent to Russian River chardonnay.
Growing Conditions
Dutton Ranch farms over eighty unique, separate vineyards located in the
coolest areas of the Russian River Valley, primarily in the sub-appellation
known as the Green Valley. We have selected our favorite vineyards from
our family’s Dutton Ranch to craft wines reflecting our vision of a signature
Russian River Valley Chardonnay. Kyndall’s Reserve Chardonnay, being
sourced from three different vineyards, is a blend crafted to showcase a
true Russian River Valley Chardonnay.
Winemaking
The chardonnay grapes for Kyndall’s Reserve is whole cluster pressed. The
juice is settled for 24 hours and racked into French Oak barrels, and a small
portion to concrete egg. Each lot of chardonnay is harvested and pressed in
its own time, and each lot is separated until blending in early summer.
During the fermentation processes, the wine is aged on its lees and stirred
every three weeks.
Aging
10 months French Oak. 35% new, 25% one-year, 20% neutral oak, 20% concrete egg.
