A brief history
Our Estate Vineyard is planted to a mix of Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Located in Los Carneros, the coolest region of Napa Valley, we produce wines of substance, elegance, and balance, to be savored for generations to come.
Sean and Juliana met in New York City a few years into their post-college careers, fell in love, married and had two beautiful twin daughters. But Napa proved to have a stronger calling than we could ever imagine. We took a leap of faith, left the East Coast, and Crosby Roamann became a reality when we purchased an airy, industrial warehouse in Napa’s Crusher District. The lofty space now holds the winery production for both Crosby Roamann and Sean W. McBride wines—Sean’s eponymous line of single-vineyard Pinot Noirs—and our modern tasting room.
Crosby Roamann wines start in the vineyard, and our minimal intervention philosophy continues throughout our winemaking practices, sourcing from small, family vineyards following organic, biodynamic or sustainable farming practices—and in the cellar where we encourage fermentation with native yeasts, and exercise natural winemaking techniques like forgoing filtration or fining.
Making distinctive wines with character and a sense of place is the bedrock of the Crosby Roamann ethos. We look forward to sharing our wines—and, our story with you—at our table or yours.
