Palate
The deep, dark full bodied syrah melds seamlessly with the bright, palate awakening freshness of the sangiovese. Tart cherries and chocolate notes on the mid palate and a long grippy finish, mellowed by soft velvety tannins.
Growing Conditions
The sangiovese used in this blend is from Hidden Valley Vineyard, our estate vineyard. The syrah is sourced from the neighboring Dove Pond Vineyard, located directly adjacent to our own in the Templeton Gap area of the Paso Robles AVA. Both sites share the same distinctive calcareous shale and sandstone soils. Irrigation is very limited and the long growing season boasts warm, sunny days and cool nights. The resulting fruit is of high quality, with low yields and concentrated flavors.
