A brief history
Charles Krug Winery, the oldest winery in the Napa Valley, recently renovated its historic Redwood Cellar, turning it into one of the most stunning Tasting Rooms in all of Napa Valley (Best of Wine Tourism Award for Architecture and Landscaping, 2015).; Originally established by Prussian immigrant Charles Krug in 1861 With over 150 years of history, the winery is a must-see destination for visitors traveling to the Napa Valley. Purchased by Cesare and Rosa Mondavi in 1943, it is the home to America's first family in wine. Our Redwood Cellar and Carriage House are grand buildings dating back to the late 1800s. Our Great Lawn is home to memorable tastings, and is used for weddings and an occassional concert performance.
