Located on the Silverado Trail just south of the town of Yountville, the Sangiovese fruit from this vineyard tends to exhibit wild berry and spice aromas classic to its variety, yet the intensity and texture of the wine more closely resembles a fine Cabernet Sauvignon.

Winter provided a record-breaking rainfall, a welcome end to the 4 years of drought. Bloom and fruit set in May occured under ideal conditions. Summer was warm but the vines weathered the heat well and maturity moved along at a steady pace.
