This estate single-vineyard wine is grown in the cooler southern region of Napa Valley, Los Carneros. We harvest these grapes at night when the acidity and fruit are in perfect balance. Aging in French oak, with stirring of the yeast lees, adds extraordinary richness and complexity.

Our 2017 Vine Hill Ranch cabernet sauvignon is an intense, full-bodied wine with aromas of blackberry and boysenberry accented by notes of dark chocolate and stone. The deep, dark fruit extends over an opulent palate supported by a firm tannin structure, and then on into a dense, powerful finish. This wine is ready to enjoy now but will age very well for another decade in the bottle. We enjoy it with classic cabernet sauvignon pairings like lamb chops, short ribs or char-broiled steak.

Aromas of boysenberry, black cherry, and fig with accents of forest floor are highlighted in the 2017 vintage. On the palate, intense, concentrated flavors of blackberry, black cherry and boysenberry are balanced by traces of minerality and opulent tannins with a dense, powerful black fruit finish. Beautifully balanced and structured for long‐ term aging, this intense, complex mountain wine will continue to unfold in the bottle for the next decade.

This wine blends the best lots of our four estate vineyards in Los Carneros. Each of the individual vineyard lots undergoes fermentation in French oak barrels, and a significant portion of the wine is fermented with its native yeast to enhance body and complexity. Portions of this wine also receive a secondary malolactic fermentation before aging more than a year in barrel on the yeast lees. With blending, we balance the vivid fruit intensity with elegance and finesse.

This is the inaugural bottling of our Napa Valley Cabernet Franc, an oft-blended Bordeaux varietal known for its distinctive aromatics, smooth mouthfeel, and good acidity. Our expression of this wine opens with vivid aromas of violets, boysenberry, and blackberry accented with the suggestion of dried herbs. On the palate, concentrated flavors of dark cherry and fresh boysenberry are supported by bright acidity and firm tannins. Boysenberry notes and a hint of minerality carry over the finish to complete this elegant wine.
