Aromas of black plum and fresh cracked pepper with herbaceous undertones.
Flavors of black cherry, blueberry and boysenberry balanced with notes of baker’s chocolate and rich caramel. Fine tannins and incredible structure with medium body and a long, delightful finish.
This Zinfandel is sourced primarily from two vineyards where the warm summer days deepen the richness on the palate. The Private Reserve Zinfandel was sourced from the warmer portion of Sonoma Valley where the afternoons reach high temperatures during the growing season for extended periods of time and result in a wine with juicy, rich flavors. The grapes for our 2015 vintage come from 30 year old vines on the property adjacent to Buena Vista and part of Count Haraszthy’s original winery,
17 months in French oak barrels; 15% new oak.
