aromas of cassis, sandalwood and clove.

Palate

The opulent aromas integrate beautifully with the rich, ripe, fruit flavors of blackberry and dark cherry and a subtle nuisance of maple syrup. This full bodied wine has intense depth and broad rich flavors.

Winemaking

The 2013 Bucephalus was crafted using some of the best grapes found in the Napa Valley. The fruit was harvested from vineyards at high elevations in the mountain AVA’s of Diamond Mountain, Howell Mountain and Atlas Peak. The high elevations are the ideal growing environment for producing fruit with huge concentration and immense depth. We also harvested grapes grown in the well balanced and temperate AVA’s of Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley and Oakville. The slightly cooler climates of these appellations create wines with excellent balance and vibrant acidity. We blended a small portion of Syrah, Petit Verdot and Merlot into the Bucephalus to help knit the blend together. The Syrah brings a deep quality to the blend. Together, these vineyard blocks create a powerful and well-structured wine.
