Nose
Lemony/limey, clove and nutmeg are a few of the more prominent aromas in the wine, now. But, as time goes by this wine will show more minerality and depth.
Palate
The energy and freshness are obvious, the subtle flavors of anise and citrus are less obvious.

The Arroyo Grande Valley has a similar climate to the Santa Maria Valley. Au Bon Climat is in the center of the Santa Maria Valley. Both Valleys open to the Pacific Ocean and see quite a bit of fog in May ,June and even July. Both are great locations for Burgundian varietals.
