Spicy notes with hints of clove and cedar mingle with black and red fruits to form expansive aromatics.
Plums, currants, pomegranate and spice fill the mouth. Complex and full bodied, yet bright with big shoulders. It has a long and pleasant finish.
This is only the second wine I have made in this blend design in my 30+ years of winemaking. For those that have followed my Reserve type Cabernet Francs and Reserve Merlots since the early 80's this will remind many. But in this blend we have reached a new pinnacle. Includes fruit from the Carpenter vineyard in St. Helena.
The fruit was punched cap fermented.
Barrel aged for 38 months in selected French Oak barrels then blended prior to bottling.
