Nose

Aromas of
fresh cherries and plums are layered with mixed spice and a truffly earthiness.

Palate

Medium-bodied and well proportioned, bright berry flavors mingle with a touch
of savory and spice.

Growing Conditions

We source our Pinot Noir fruit exclusively from our Carneros Vineyard in Napa
Valley. The Carneros terrain where we grow Pinot Noir is marked by well-drained,
rolling hills sloping to the San Pablo Bay. The proximity of the bay moderates the
vineyard microclimate with morning and evening fog and afternoon breezes. The
area is marked by cool marine influences that provide a long-growing season to
develop even and optimal ripeness.
The drought that has impacted much of California from 2012 continued to keep
rainfall levels below 50% of average and maintained growing season heat summation
above average for the harvest. The warm and dry conditions promotes excellent
quality and when combined with above average yields the potential of the 2014
vintage is outstanding across all varieties.

Harvest

Harvest dates: September 4 - 8, 2014

Winemaking

Our Pinot Noir is hand picked, sorted berry by berry and fermented in small open
fermenters with the inclusion of 15 % whole bunches to provide aromatic complexity
and structure to the wine. After 2 weeks of fermentation the wine is pressed and
filled directly to Burgundian coopered barriques for 12 months of maturation prior
to assemblage of the final blend and bottling without filtration.

Appearance

The wine’s vibrant ruby color signals its clarity and concentration.

Food Pairing

Pinot Noir is a great match with chicken, charcuterie, root vegetables and
dishes with subtle spices. Enjoy with chicken stuffed with mushrooms, bacon
and pine nuts.
