After 10 years of aging, this wine shows rich aromas of brioche, fresh cream, red apples, and toasted hazelnuts. 


The frothy mousse gives way to flavors of toasted bread, spiced apples, and plum compote. The long finish showcases the impact of the yeast, with soft, creamy, and toasty notes.

Growing Conditions

DVX, our prestigious tête de cuvée, honors the late Guy Devaux, founding winemaker of Mumm Napa. The grapes for DVX come from fewer than a dozen of our very best vineyard sources.


Eleven lots of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were selected for this wine, including five lots or 37% of the blend, that fermented in oak barrels to add richness and spice. While most of the blend was disgorged after 5-6 years on the yeast, a small portion was held back for extended tirage aging. This special release, after 10 years aging sur lies, is a fabulous example of the transformative role that yeast plays in the crafting of sparkling wine.
